Level-5 終於將《Professor Layton and the New World of Steam》定於 2026 年發售
週三，Level-5 的解謎冒險遊戲《Professor Layton and the New World of Steam》在延遲了一整年後，終於迎來了 2026 年的發售日期。多年來，由於缺乏關於最新《Professor Layton》遊戲的資訊，粉絲們開始感到絕望，並預計發售日期會再次推遲。今年四月，一個新的預告片證實了 2026 年的發售計畫並未改變。如今，幾個月後，遊戲的官方發售日期終於在九月的 Nintendo Direct 上公布。

在工業革命初期，教授與他值得信賴的助手路克將在全新的解謎冒險系列中回歸。在收到路克的來信後，教授前往 Steam Bison，一個快速發展的美國城鎮，該鎮正遭受神秘事件的困擾。
《Professor Layton and the New World of Steam》是自 2013 年的《Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy》以來，系列推出的首款正統續作，《Azran Legacy》是 Layton 前傳三部曲的最終章。在這款為 Nintendo 3DS 發行的遊戲與《New World of Steam》之間，發行商 Level-5 發布了一系列衍生作品和跨界合作遊戲：《Layton Brothers: Mystery Room》、《Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney》、《Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy》。很快，教授將透過《New World of Steam》進入他的續作時代。
